Uro-oncological pathology tutorial: a 2-day "meet the expert"
9th - 10th June, 2014

Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO)
Melchor Fernández Almagro, 3 - 28029 Madrid, Spain

This 2-day Tutorial aims to cover the main current issues in the pathology of human kidney and bladder cancers: Theoretical presentations will include normal macroscopy and microscopy, diagnostic criteria, specimen handling and reporting, histological subtypes, diagnostic pitfalls, prognosis evaluation, molecular genetics, and perspectives for the future regarding molecular biomarkers and classification. Practical clinicopathological cases will support discussion and ensure interactivity. The course will be in English language and of interest for pathologists and other physicians or researchers involved in the field.

Yves Allory is professor of Pathology at Henri Mondor Hospital and University Paris Est (Créteil, France) and has been a CNIO Visiting Scientist. He has more than 10 years experience in Genito-Urinary Pathology, with a strong interest in genito-urinary cancer biomarkers and classifications.

Ferran Algaba is the chief of Pathology Department of Fundació Puigvert and associated professor of Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona (Spain). He has 37 years of experience in genito-urinary pathology and is member of the WHO, UICC, ISUP and European societies of Pathology and Urology.

The fees are 150€ (Rticc members free). They include printed resources, meals and coffee-breaks. Application deadline May 31st.
